The Dance
There are days when the band never comes;
There are days when the music flows;
There are days when a single clear flute pierces the air;
And, sometimes it flows as harp strings slowly being plucked;
Many times it is the big band sound playing long and loud into the night.
At other times the retro sound of 80’s rock throbs on endlessly;
Every now and then it is the solo guitar accompanied by the ballad words low and steady;
But most often it is the piano softly flowing bringing forth a constant well known melody;
But most importantly, through it all it was you dancing with me at the Dance.
