to drown my sorrows?
Can I trouble you for a word,
to tell my tale?
Can I trouble you for a moment,
to hold my hand?
Can I trouble you for some silence,
so I can hear my tears fall?
Can I trouble you for an answer,
so I can answer my question?
Part plea, part graceful invitation. I loved the nakedness and the simplicity, and it showed ample glimpses into a heart with so much truth in it.
Being witnessed, in my opinion, is the most meaningful premise under which to live our lives. I have asked these same questions too, to achieve that end. 🙂
